Marlo Safi Joins ISI as National Director of Student Programs

Marlo SafiWilmington, DE—The Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) announced today that Marlo Safi has joined ISI as National Director of Student Programs.

Safi begins the role in August 2021 and will be based at ISI’s headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware. She was previously a journalist at the Daily Caller, where she covered culture and education, and she is a 2021 Publius Fellow at the Claremont Institute.

“As a college student, ISI gave me an indispensable education centered on the ‘permanent things,’ ” Safi said. “I’m elated to join the team that is working to further this reach to ambitious students at a time when many universities have shirked their responsibility to inspire free intellectual inquiry.”

Safi graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where she studied political science and poetry. As an undergraduate, she was awarded ISI’s DeVos Freedom Center Leadership Award. She also founded an ISI-sponsored student publication and earned two Columbia Journalism Awards in college. After graduation, Safi served as an ISI Collegiate Network fellow at National Review.

ISI president John A. Burtka IV said: “We are thrilled to bring Marlo aboard. With her talent, her passion for ISI’s mission, and her experience with all aspects of the ISI student program, she is well positioned to help ISI identify and educate talented student leaders—students like Marlo herself, who hunger for an education in liberty and a vibrant like-minded community that they can’t find at their own schools.”

Safi is a freelance writer and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, National Review, The Spectator, and the University Bookman, among other publications.
