With essays and selections from thinkers such as Abraham Lincoln, Publius, William F. Buckley Jr., and F.A. Hayek, this is the perfect way to get an introduction to the principles of conservatism.

The Conservative Mind of Russell Kirk

Take a deep dive into the mind of one of the most preeminent political philosophers of the conservative tradition—Russell Kirk. Author of such greats as The Conservative Mind and The Roots of American Order, Russell Kirk shaped the conservative intellectual tradition. This seminar includes his essays on intellectual giants like Edmund Burke and T.S. Eliot, and explores Kirk’s essential concepts of conservatism, culture, and imagination.

Economics: The Not-So-Dismal Science

Free market economics is widely criticized, but few people understand how it works or why it’s morally sound. This highly interactive, video-oriented Society seminar explores the function and morals of markets and gives you a jump on the ISI Philosophy, Politics, and Economics credentialed courses. Also includes free books like Cooperation & Coercion by Antony Davies and James Harrigan.

The Great Tradition

Explore the philosophical roots of the Western tradition. This seminar is perfect for ISI Societies that want to engage with primary sources. It surveys the West’s great thinkers and ideas, starting with Plato and Aristotle and continuing into the twentieth century.
