Study Literature with Renowned Poet Dana Gioia!

A small group of young writers will convene at the poet Dana Gioia’s hilltop home in the Wine Country of Northern California where they will enjoy and a day discussing two topics: first, the nature of literature and why it matters to society; second, the life of the writer, especially how a young person can pursue this challenging but rewarding career. The two conversations will be interrupted by meals and a lakeside hike in the hills. 

If accepted, this exclusive opportunity is all-expenses-paid.

Meet Your Instructor

Dana Gioia

Dana Gioia is an internationally acclaimed poet and writer. Former California Poet Laureate and Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, Gioia was born in Los Angeles of Italian and Mexican descent. The first person in his family to attend college, he received a B.A. and M.B.A. from Stanford and an M.A. from Harvard in Comparative Literature. For fifteen years he worked as a businessman before quitting at forty-one to become a full-time writer.
