Register for the 2024 Collegiate Network Professional Reporting Course

Collegiate Network interns and fellows this year are invited to join us in the Washington, D.C. area for a weekend of lectures and discussions on how to succeed in a professional newsroom and strengthen your writing and reporting skills. You’ll hear from seasoned journalists from a wide variety of publications, as well as former Collegiate Network interns and fellows. This event will take place from Friday, June 21st to Sunday, June 23rd at the Hilton Old Town Alexandria Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia. All food, travel and lodging expenses will be covered by ISI.

 

 

Speakers

Jason Willick

Jason Willick is a Washington Post opinion columnist focusing on law, politics and foreign policy. Before that, he was an editorial writer at the Wall Street Journal. He graduated from Stanford with a B.A. in history.

Josh Christenson

Josh Christenson is a politics reporter for the New York Post where he covers Capitol Hill. He was previously a staff writer and assistant editor at the Washington Free Beacon. His writings have also appeared in the Washington Examiner, the American Conservative, and First Things.

Tim Carney

Tim Carney is the senior columnist at the Washington Examiner, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and the author of four books, most recently Family Unfriendly: How Our Culture Made Raising Kids Much Harder Than it Needs to Be. Tim and his wife Katie raise six children.

W. James Antle III

W. James Antle III is the Washington Examiner magazine’s executive editor. He was previously politics editor of the Washington Examiner, managing editor of the Daily Caller, associate editor of The American Spectator, and senior writer for The American Conservative. He is the author of Devouring Freedom: Can Big Government Ever Be Stopped?

Emily Jashinsky

Emily Jashinsky is a D.C. correspondent at UnHerd. Previously, she worked as culture editor at The Federalist and host of Federalist Radio Hour, covered politics as a commentary writer for the Washington Examiner, and served as director of the National Journalism Center. Emily has interviewed leading politicians and entertainers and appeared regularly as a guest on major television news programs, including “Fox News Sunday,” “Media Buzz,” and “Washington Journal.” Her work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Telegraph, The Hill, and more. Emily is co-host of “Counter Points” on the Breaking Points network and a visiting fellow at Independent Women’s Forum. Originally from Wisconsin, she is a graduate of George Washington University.
