Myron Magnet

Myron Magnet is editor at large of City Journal, the Manhattan Institute’s quarterly magazine of urban affairs, which he edited from 1994 to 2006. A former member of the board of editors of Fortune ,he has written for Commentary, the Wall Street Journal, National Review, the American Spectator, the New York Times, and other publications. Magnet is the author of The Dream and the Nightmare: The Sixties’ Legacy to the Underclass. Which columnist Mona Charen called “the book of the decade,” and editor of The Millennial City, What Makes Charity Work?, and Modern Sex. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. Dr. Magnet lives in New York City.
