Gerald A. McCool, S.J., professor emeritus of philosophy at Fordham University, has written extensively on the relationship between the philosophy of St. Thomas and Catholic theology and social teaching in the sixteenth- and seventeenth-century scholastic revival, as well as on the Thomistic movement of the last two centuries. His books include Nineteenth Century Scholasticism: The Search for a Unitary Method, From Unity to Pluralism: The Internal Evolution of Thomism, and The Neo-Thomists.
