Learn how technology took power away from centralized authorities
“Revolt of the Public”: Liberty, Authority, and American Political Culture is a seminar series sponsored by ISI and Lincoln Network to explore how, due to technological innovation in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, mainstream authorities gradually lost power over narrative creation. Students will gather virtually over the course of 6 weeks to discuss author Martin Gurri’s book “Revolt of the Public”, along with other seminal texts animating tech discourse today.
The first session starts on September 20th at 7:00 pm and meets consecutively on a weekly basis until October 25th.
Accepted students will be provided a curriculum detailing the session topics and texts.
This is a free webinar, and books will be provided to accepted students.
Space is limited. Please register by Friday, Sept. 2.
