“Chronic diseases account for over 90% of medical spending: The management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity now constitutes more than 90% of healthcare expenditures, a significant increase from the late 1950s when such spending was virtually nonexistent.”
– Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health
An Evening with Calley Means

Overview
Join ISI on October 23rd to meet Calley Means, the co-author of Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health.
On October 23rd, ISI and the Brandywine Women’s Coalition will host Calley Means at our campus in Wilmington, DE for a discussion on his #1 New York Times bestselling book: Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health.
At this moment, the stakes for America’s health could not be higher. A staggering 93% of U.S. adults already show at least one marker of metabolic dysfunction, according to a landmark study highlighted in Good Energy. This means the vast majority of Americans are living with early warning signs for chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and even certain cancers. Calley Means will examine the systemic reasons these numbers keep rising and outline practical steps you and your family can use to reclaim your health.
Means proposes a bold thesis in his book: nearly every modern ailment, from depression and infertility to Alzheimer’s and cancer, can be traced to impaired cellular energy production. When our cells create “good energy,” we thrive; when they don’t, we spiral toward disease.
During the event, Means will present his science-backed insights into an engaging keynote, empowering attendees to transform personal and public health alike. Whether you’re a physician, policymaker, parent, wellness entrepreneur, or a concerned citizen, you’ll leave with actionable strategies and renewed hope that healthspan can keep pace with lifespan.

General Admission tickets are available for $125, offering access to the general reception, keynote, and Q&A. A discounted, $50 ticket is available for guests under 35. Select the $125 General Admission ticket option and follow the prompts during checkout to access the lower rate.

“It was increasingly becoming clear to me that although I was surrounded
Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health
by practitioners who got into medicine to help patients, the reality is that
every institution that impacts health—from medical schools to insurance
companies to hospitals to pharma companies—makes money on
‘managing’ disease, not curing patients.”
