Founded in 1953, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) is a nonprofit organization that educates for liberty, equipping future leaders to embrace and defend the principles that make America free and prosperous.

ISI is seeking a full-time Regional Director of Major Gifts to support its vital mission by securing funds, managing key donor relationships, and identifying new major gift fundraising opportunities.

Reporting to ISI’s Director of Major Gifts, the Regional Director will serve as a frontline fundraiser and relationship manager for a caseload, with an emphasis on securing $10,000+ leadership gifts, pledges, and estate commitments for the Institute. The Regional Director will be expected to conduct regular personal meetings with donors and donor prospects and to make solicitations, employing an effective moves management strategy.

This is a full-time position with remote work considered for strong candidates. Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Qualify donors and manage a caseload of 125-200 donors.
  • Create a contact, marketing, and communication plan for each donor on the caseload that fulfills the donor’s interests and passion. Execute that plan and modify it as circumstances change.
  • Travel frequently to meet with caseload donors, major prospects, and to attend relevant events and conferences (between 100 and 125 meetings per year).
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Programs, securing project information for creating donor offers (front-end) and reporting to donors on how their giving made a difference (back-end).
  • Collaborate with ISI’s Grant Writer to put together compelling grant proposals and reports.
  • Join weekly development team meetings and regular check-in meetings with the Director of Major Gifts
  • Perform other major gift officer duties as required, including tracking activity in Salesforce.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, including experience directly cultivating a caseload of donors and closing five-figure gifts and above. The candidate should exhibit superior time-management skills, a high degree of personal initiative and conscientiousness, reliable emotional intelligence, superb interpersonal and writing abilities, and, crucially, a deep appreciation for and desire to further the mission of ISI.  Experience with Salesforce and strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills are a plus.
