  • Create a contact, marketing, and communication plan for each donor on the caseload that fulfills the donor’s interests and passion. Execute that plan and modify it as circumstances change.
  • Travel frequently to meet with caseload donors, major prospects, and to attend relevant events and conferences (between 100 and 125 meetings per year).
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Programs, securing project information for creating donor offers (front-end) and reporting to donors on how their giving made a difference (back-end).
  • Collaborate with ISI’s Grant Writer to put together compelling grant proposals and reports.
  • Join weekly development team meetings and regular check-in meetings with the Director of Major Gifts
  • Perform other major gift officer duties as required, including tracking activity in Salesforce.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, including experience directly cultivating a caseload of donors and closing five-figure gifts and above. The candidate should exhibit superior time-management skills, a high degree of personal initiative and conscientiousness, reliable emotional intelligence, superb interpersonal and writing abilities, and, crucially, a deep appreciation for and desire to further the mission of ISI.  Experience with Salesforce and strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) skills are a plus.
