Modern Age Founded
in 1957, Modern Age has long been regarded as "the
principal quarterly of the intellectual Right." Modern
Age's founding editor, Russell Kirk, articulated at the outset
the journal’s mission: "to pursue a conservative policy
for the sake of a liberal understanding." Modern Age's
consistent dedication to this purpose has played an important part
in the post-war conservative intellectual revival.

What Distinguished Scholars
Say About Modern Age:
"Modern Age is the only serious culturally conservative
journal around today. Its thoughtful and gifted authors regularly
break through disciplinary boundaries and merely political or rhetorical
concerns in pursuit of an articulation of the full truth about the
human good and human dignity."
— Peter Augustine Lawler, Dana Professor of Political Science,
Berry College and editor, Perspectives on Political Science
"The articles in Modern Age are of a uniformly high
quality on a wide range of subjects both timely and timeless."
— Forrest McDonald, University of Alabama
"At a time when we collectively seem to have lost our moral
compass, Modern Age consistently brings alive the sources
of Western culture as found in ancient Greece and Rome, sources
which speak to us across the ages with timeless wisdom, both speculative
and practical."
— Jude Dougherty, editor, The Review of Metaphysics
"Modern Age is an unembarrassed forum of high culture
in the best sense of the word."
— Paul Hollander, author, Political Will and Personal Belief
