Peter Lawson-Johnston

President, Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation

Peter Lawson-Johnston, a member of the Guggenheim family’s fifth generation, has overseen the family’s major business, philanthropic, and arts enterprises since 1969, when he was named president of the board of trustees of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. A graduate of the University of Virginia, Lawson-Johnston is president of the board of the university’s art museum. He is also the former president of the board of trustees of The Lawrenceville School, and he currently serves on the board of National Review.
